Areas of Expertise:
Antonia J. Krahl is a sociologist focusing on the interaction between built environment and the social. From the perspective of architectural/urban sociology, she conducts research on method-integrative social research as well as mixed-method methodologies. In this context, she is focusing appropriate research methods that take into account the materiality, the field access and the interdisciplinarity of this specific research topic and derive methodological consequences. Currently, she is doing her PhD on the topic of "Affordability of Housing" and analyzes the logics of action of housing actors, who are confronted with a tension between entrepreneurial logics of action on the one hand and the assumption of responsibility on the other. The research follows a multi-method as well as a mixed-method approach.
