Antonia J. Krahl works on social science research methodology with a special interest in multimethod and mixed methods research. Her substantive fields are architectural, urban and housing sociology focussing on the interaction between the built environment and the social. In this context, her focus lies on appropriate research methods of the specific inter- and transdisciplinary field of research, which takes into account the materiality of the specific research object and derives methodological consequences.

Antonia Krahl studied Empirical Political and Social Research at the University of Stuttgart and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Since 2016, she has been working on her doctorate at the Bauhaus University Weimar as a sociologist in the interdisciplinary junior research group "Social Housing in Growing Urban Regions: Urban Planning and Legal Perspectives". From 2016 to 2019, she was a doctoral fellow of the Hans Böckler Foundation and also worked as a research assistant at the Department of Sociology of Architecture and Housing at the University of Stuttgart until 2020. For the year 2020/21, she was awarded a doctoral graduation fellowship from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and has been an academic staff member of the Department of Sociology and Empirical Social Research at the University of Stuttgart since October 2021. In addition to teaching methods in the field of qualitative as well as multimethod and mixed-methods research, she works in the projects "Where would I like to live? Understanding Young Adults' Housing Decision Processes" and "Exploring Housing: Method(olog)ical approaches and research-practical reflections of qualitative approaches".
